This is a lawyer directory
LocalAdjuster publishes listings of Florida-licensed lawyers together in one place. Under Rule 4-7.23(b) of the Rules Regulating The Florida Bar, a lawyer may advertise in a directory only if the directory meets certain requirements. This is our statement that we meet them.
Advertising rules for lawyers
Lawyer advertising in Florida is governed by subchapter 4-7 of the Rules Regulating The Florida Bar. Almost all non-exempt lawyer advertisements must be filed with The Florida Bar for review before they are published — at least 20 days before first use, with a review fee (Rule 4-7.19(a)), and a late fee applies to an advertisement not filed on time. Filing is a review of compliance with the advertising rules; it is not approval, and The Florida Bar does not endorse or approve this directory or any lawyer in it.
Advertisements that contain only the information listed in Rule 4-7.16 (often called a “tombstone” advertisement) are not required to be filed. A basic listing in a directory is generally treated differently from a display advertisement. An advertiser is responsible for filing their own advertisement where the rules require it. We review every paid advertisement against our advertiser requirements before it runs, and we may decline or remove an advertisement that does not comply.
What we will not do
- We do not state or imply that this directory, or any lawyer listed in it, is endorsed or approved by The Florida Bar. A listing here is not a certification, a rating or a recommendation.
- We do not engage in, and do not permit, any in-person solicitation of prospective clients.
- We do not charge a lawyer any fee that is a division or sharing of legal fees. Advertising is sold at a flat fee for space, and nothing else is for sale.
- We list only persons authorised to provide the services listed. Every lawyer record is traced to The Florida Bar register it came from.
- We do not refer, match or recommend any lawyer to any visitor. No contact details are ever sold, shared or forwarded.
Official enquiries
The Florida Bar or its bar counsel may make an official enquiry about this directory or about a lawyer listed in it. We respond in writing within 15 days, as Rule 4-7.23(b)(5) requires. Enquiries: contact us. This directory is published by IT FOCUS, LLC, a Florida limited liability company, which is the name used in all of our communications to the public.
