Where the data comes from
Every record starts as a public licence record. We do not invent listings, and we do not accept payment to create one.

What "checked" means — and what it does not
A badge that every listing carries tells you nothing. So a record shows one of exactly three states, and nothing else:
- Checked — the licence was confirmed against the state register on the date shown on the record.
- Owner-confirmed — the business claimed the listing and confirmed its details. Not independently checked against the register.
- Listed — compiled from public records and not individually confirmed.
None of these is a recommendation. A licence confirms someone is allowed to do the work; it says nothing about how well they do it. Always run your own check at the register linked on the record before you sign anything.
