A big claim, or a simple one
Most people find this site in the middle of a crisis. You do not need one to use it, and you do not need an account, a fee or a phone call to us. Whatever the job is, the answer is the same shape: who is licensed near you, what their licence number is, and where to check it yourself.
- A leak you want dried out properly → water mitigation & mold
- One window, or every opening in the house → window & door companies
- A deposit you are about to pay → check the general contractor, roofer or plumber first
- An opinion you need in writing → a licensed professional engineer
- A claim that was denied or underpaid → a public adjuster or a property attorney
General knowledge, plainly stated, so you can decide what to do next — usually in less time than it takes to get a callback.
Why this directory is different
Most directories list whoever paid. This one is built from the state registers that actually license these trades, so a listing exists because a license exists — not because someone bought it.
- Public adjusters come from the Florida Department of Financial Services licensee register.
- Contractors, roofers, plumbers, window companies and mold remediators come from DBPR licence files.
- Professional engineers come from the FBPE / DBPR engineer register.
- Every record states what was checked and when, and says plainly when nothing was.
- Nothing on this site can be bought into a "verified" state. Placement may be sponsored; verification never is.

Know your claim before you call anyone
A claim is a set of deadlines, and most of them are written into Florida law. These guides state them plainly and link the statute, so you can check us.
After a storm, in order
- Stop the water. Water mitigation and mold remediation before structural repair — mold starts within about 48 hours.
- Document everything before anything is removed or repaired. Photograph, then keep the damaged material until the claim is settled.
- Get the claim represented. A public adjuster works for the policyholder, not the insurer, and Florida caps their fee at 20%.
- Repair. Use a licensed contractor and confirm the licence before work starts — an unlicensed contractor is the most common way a claim goes wrong.
